The original airbrush art shown above was commissioned specifically for use with the Lionel Trains Smithsonian New York Central Dreyfuss Hudson model project. It was used for a number of promotional advertisements and most prominently for the collectible poster delivered with each Dreyfuss Hudson model, also the series of limited edition prints that were sold separately by Lionel Trains. The composition is reminiscent of a calendar released by the New York Central Railroad in the 1940's when the prototype Dreyfuss Hudson began it's career as a premiere locomotive in service powering the Twentieth Century Limited passenger train.
